Self-Portrait has always been present throughout my work. It is a medium of self-discovery for me, where every portrait reveals something different about my presence, using different lines, colours, forms and techniques. It is a testing-ground where ideas emerge first. Looking in the mirror represents the autoethnographic aspect of my work, encompassing all stages of my life, from childhood photos in “the kid” series, to the self-portraits of my grown-up years. I study forms, colours and visual space, as well as composition in these works.
